Lightyear Health is looking for a Consulting PM&R MD or DO to become part of our growing company that improves the functional independence and quality of life for aging patients
We are a healthcare technology startup that is changing what it means to age. By delivering accessible, proactive, specialty care to post-acute care facilities, our aging patients and their caregivers can live a life of dignity, fullness, and joy. Using our proprietary technology and expertise in complex care, our team collaborates with individuals, families, and caregivers to design personalized care plans that address the holistic needs of each patient.
To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Consulting PM&R MD or DO who is great at working within a collaborative care model and who envisions a world where every aging patient has access to the world’s best healthcare. This is a flexible 1099 role serving patients in the Charlottesville area and will report to our Chief Medical Officer.
As a key member of our PM&R team, here’s what you’ll do:
Key Outcomes:
- Providing in-person PMR consultations in skilled nursing facilities to increase the quality of life for our patients
- Working with other facility practitioners in a Co-Management model to provide high-value care
- Develop strong relationships with interdisciplinary SNF teams to improve patient care
The most important skills for the role are:
- Active PM&R MD or DO license in Virginia
In addition to the above, it would be great if you also had:
- Have experience working in skilled nursing facilities
- Have successfully implemented new clinical programs or entrepreneurial projects at a leading institution
Compensation:
We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation. The exact salary will depend on one’s census size, which is typically 15-18 patients per day. Providers who meet our rigorous standards for clinical care and are able to efficiently see more patients can see earnings increase proportionally, and all team members receive a stock option grant.

Practitioners at Lightyear Health are responsible for meeting and complying with our credentialing verifications processes, clinical standards, health screenings, and vaccination policies at all times. It is the responsibility of the practitioner to ensure that your licenses, certifications, and credentials are kept up to date and in good standing.
