Lightyear Health is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide behavioral health treatment to underserved populations including geriatric individuals and others living with overlapping medical and psychiatric diagnoses. This is a full-time position with no overnight calls, and no weekends.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is interested in increasing the quality of life of our patients and who envisions a world where every aging patient has access to the world’s best healthcare. This is a remote role that requires a California license.
As a key member of our Behavioral Health team, here’s what you’ll do:
Key Outcomes:
- Psychiatric expertise to reduce the negative impact that behavioral health conditions can have on a patient’s overall health and well-being
- Provide behavioral health treatment to 15-20 patients/day with minimal MD supervision
- Treat patients via telemedicine who reside at home, in Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and Independent Living Facilities
- Maintain monthly communication with family, legal representatives, facility staff, PCPs, and specialists for continuity of care and compliance with individualized member care plans
- Perform thorough clinical assessments on all newly enrolled members and regularly thereafter
- Provide concise and clinically comprehensive documentation within 48 hours of patient visit.
- Triage and address psychiatric emergencies of patients on your panel.
The most important skills for the role are:
- Current, unrestricted CA NP license
- PMHNP certification from an accredited program
- DEA License
- Minimum of one year clinical PMHNP experience, with home-based care desired
- Fully vaccinated as outlined by our policy

- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC codes
- Awareness about UM standards, NCQA requirements, CMS guidelines, Milliman guidelines, and Medicaid/Medicare contracts and benefit systems

Anticipated Salary Range
We offer a competitive salary starting at $170k, plus benefits medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401k with company matching, and stock options. The exact salary will depend on (1) how many years of relevant and transferable experience the candidate brings to the role and (2) the internal level at which the candidate is hired in relation to our career development framework.
