The seniors in my family have struggled with the systemic barriers to quality healthcare, and that connected me to Lightyear Health’s mission. I am inspired every day to help in any way I can.
As a Recruiting Associate at Lightyear Health, I serve as the point of contact for candidates for open clinical, corporate, and technical roles. My goal is to ensure each candidate has a positive experience from their first interview to the offer stage.
I received my Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University at Buffalo. During my 7+ years in the education field, I facilitated community, leadership, and professional development to students from underrepresented backgrounds. One of the ways I provided support was through leading recruitment efforts. I love talking to people, listening to their story and seeing everything align – the timing, the interest on both sides, skills set and personality-wise, overall team dynamics. Not only does filling the position bring them closer to achieving their career goals, but it brings us closer to achieving our mission and executing the vision. It’s a win, win!
Outside of work, I am an active member of DC-based community organizations: Greater Washington Urban League-Thursday Network and BeGreatDC. Volunteering to help improve social issues such as racial and gender inequity, food insecurity, and unequal opportunity to education is important to me. I love spending time with my family and friends, working out, and traveling the world.
