Janet Borja

Lead Medical Assistant

I love my Grandparents so much and I was fortunate to have all four of them play an integral part of my life. However, it was my relationship with my Grandfather on my dad’s side that changed my life forever. He was such a loving and genuine man and there wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t teach me something. Unfortunately, in 2001 my Grandfather suffered a massive heart attack which caused Hemiplegia (paralysis of one part of the body) which in his case is on his Left side. For the last 4 years of his life he was bed bound and I had the pleasure of taking care of him everyday. We had many talks, but none more influential than the day I decided I wanted to become a nurse. I had already graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business, Banking, but I knew I was going back to school to get my Bachelors degree in Nursing. A short 3 1/2 years later that dream became a reality. In 2010 I came to the United States to join my parents and start my American dream. Needing to start working right away to help my family I became a Caregiver at an assisted living community. Shortly thereafter I was promoted to Lead Medication Technician. I enjoyed that role for several years before I became a Unit Clerk in the emergency room at Sharp Chula Vista Hospital. More recently I was a dialysis technician. While I enjoyed working with patients I really missed working with Seniors. That is when Waltham Clinic called me and my life was again changed forever. Everytime I am caring for one of our senior patients I always remember my Grandfather. With him always in the back of my mind, I make sure I am providing the same level of care and compassion I provided for him in his last 4 years of  life.

I am the Lead Medical Assistant and a Hiring Manager for Medical Assistants. I am so grateful and honored to lead a team that has such wonderful, caring and compassionate people.

I am a graduate with 2 Bachelors degrees. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Banking and Finance. After 7 years of working in banking and government offices I decided to go back to school and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2010 I came to the United States to further pursue my dreams.

I love my Family, they are my world!

I am the mom to 3 fur babies and have two nephews that light up my life. Last but not least I am married to my wonderful husband who is my rock. We love to spend time with our dogs and travel.
