I have enjoyed taking care of others since the young age of five. I was able to fulfill this desire initially when I served my country as a Naval Officer and later as a nurse caring for an underserved population. I became painfully aware of how vital access to care is to individuals. My mother became ill and unfortunately she did not have access to care, which impacted her treatment and prognosis. I have dedicated my life to being a part of the solution, providing access to care to those that otherwise would not have care.
I lead a team of highly trained and passionate Advanced Practice Providers in providing individualized care to address behavioral health concerns in the geriatric community. I believe in providing access and quality care with an integrated behavioral health and wellness approach. I work to address behavioral health concerns with the patient as the center of my focus. I utilize evidence based practice and creative approaches to work toward the patient’s healthcare and quality of life goals.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology from Hampton University and a Masters Degree in Nursing from National University. I served as an Officer in the United States Navy and had the great honor of serving the Veteran population at the Veterans Hospital. I partnered with ProWorld and completed a medical mission in Belize and Guatemala.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, taking vacations, going glamping, reading, attending psychiatric conferences, and volunteering in the community.
