Lightyear Health is an amazing company, and what this company wants to do for the geriatric community is wonderful. The geriatric community of people who live in these assisted living facilities are often overlooked and don’t receive the care and attention they deserve. I love that Lightyear is committed to giving them the quality patient care they should be receiving. Everyone deserves quality care.
At Lightyear Health I am a Telehealth Presenter. I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet and talk to our patients in person and help set them up for their appointment. I do my best to help our patients feel comfortable with using technology, for some people telehealth is a new experience, and to help them feel supported. It’s very important to me to make sure our patients feel supported and know they can count on us.
My healthcare education started in 2012/2013 when I was a senior in high school. I did an ROP hospital health program and it really opened my eyes to the world of healthcare, and I knew I wanted this to be my career. In 2016 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and worked in long term and skilled nursing facilities until I got a job in a hospital. While there I gained so much experience and worked in many different departments including: Cardiac Telemetry, ICU, Infusion, the Emergency Room, Oncology, and the Operating Room. I recently obtained my Phlebotomy license (CPT-1) and will be assisting with skills instruction at a local college in my area. I’m a nursing major, and I’m getting ready to graduate with a Degree in Natural Sciences. Soon I will be applying to nursing programs to become an RN. My ultimate goal is to be a Physician’s Assistant.
When I’m not at work, I like to think I’m a very active person! I love to travel and spend time outdoors. I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, and pretty much anything else that is outside! I’ve been playing guitar for about 16 years—music is a huge passion of mine; I write and produce my own music whenever I get the chance. I also really enjoy going to live events! Concerts, music festivals, and live theater performances. I also have a cat named Delilah who keeps me entertained whenever I’m home.
