I came to Lightyear Health because after working for 20 years in acute care hospital settings with 18 years in Emergency Nursing, I was ready for a different environment and challenge. Working in the Emergency Department, I witnessed firsthand the devastation of an elderly patient falling, and I have also seen the stress of advancing dementia on both the patient and their families. I recognized that preventing an individual from needing to come to the emergency department was best, but I had no idea how to do so. Lack of resources and inequities in care outside of the hospital is often a factor for many seniors. When I heard about Lightyear Health and the work they are doing to bring exceptional healthcare, using advanced technology, to a population that very often has limited options, I was intrigued. Lightyear Health is actively looking for solutions to big problems. When I spoke with Dr. Kelleher, and I heard the passion and conviction she has for this work, and Lightyear’s desire to bring a team of exceptional caregivers together to empower patients, families, and assisted living staff, I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of this team.
I am an RN Case Manager. I assist patients and families to navigate through the healthcare system to find solutions to provide effective, efficient and high quality care to ensure the highest functioning and quality of life possible for all of my patients. My role is to advocate for our patients, coordinate care, and be a source of support and resource for my patients, their families, community staff and our providers. I wear a lot of hats and I enjoy the challenge.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and have worked as a bedside RN for 20 years, with18 years in Emergency Nursing.
Beyond work my passions are travel and photography. I enjoy exploring and learning about new, diverse cultures, trying new cuisines and people watching. I’ve visited 45 countries so far and I would love to visit 100 eventually. I am currently learning to speak Portuguese.
