I love working for Lightyear health and am in line with their vision of changing what it means to age. I have always had a passion and desire to work with the aging population and to help improve their quality of life. I find it interesting and rewarding to improve access to care using creativity and innovative technology.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for Lightyear Health, my focus is using a creative, patient-centered approach to care for those residing in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
I started my nursing career in high school as a Nursing assistant, caring for elderly clients. I have over 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse working in many different fields, including orthopedics, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and acute care. I was previously a Director of Nursing for skilled nursing, a nursing instructor, and performed case management services. In 2016, I received a Master’s degree in Nursing with an emphasis in Clinical Systems Leadership at the University of Arizona and obtained a Post Master’s certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Cincinnati in 2018. As a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, I have worked primarily as a Hospitalist in acute care, treating those with multiple co-morbidities and illnesses, focusing on adults and geriatrics.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family. I love animals, especially caring for my adorable flock of chickens. I also enjoy shopping, swimming, movies, gardening, cooking and pilates.
