Krysta Kucinski

Lead Technical Recruiter

As the Lead Technical Recruiter at Lightyear Health, I oversee the recruitment of all roles across Engineering, Product, and Data Science. I help to build a long term strategy that ensures we consistently hire talented team members who align with our foundational values and our mission.

I’ve been in technical recruitment for about 8 years now. I’ve recruited for companies ranging from large corporations to tiny startups in the founder’s apartment. What I’ve learned is that I recruit best when I am fully engaged with a company’s mission no matter how large or small the team may be.

I graduated from Penn State University, and while there, I participated in the Four Diamonds Fund and Penn State THON. THON is a student-run yearlong effort that culminates in a 46 hour dance marathon. Each year students raise millions of dollars for the Four Diamonds Fund to battle pediatric cancer and cover 100% cost of treatment. It was the most inspirational event I’ve ever witnessed and been a part of. Through it, I saw how great the impact of a few could be on the larger community.

It was not a hard decision to join Lightyear Health, as here too, I felt tied to our mission. Dementia unfortunately affects so many families, mine included, and as the aging population continues to grow, we’ll need more innovative care than ever before. I’m proud to be working for a company that impacts so many and anticipates the future challenges that will come our way.

When I’m not recruiting top talent, I spend my free time in Astoria, Queens with my pup, Maggie. During baseball season you can find me close by at Citi Field where I’ll be cheering on my New York Mets. Lastly, but certainly not least, I volunteer with Mouse on their Associate Board. Mouse is committed to fostering diversity in STEM education and empowering K-12 students and teachers to access and use technology to further advance their communities.
